Lady Forest
While creating the sculpture Lady Forest, I envisioned a gentle, quiet spirit of the forest — Mother Nature and Sleeping Beauty combined — expressed through an intricate, elegant hairstyle. I wanted the viewer to feel a connection to the forest and be reminded of the emotions experienced during a sunny walk among the trees: calmness, grounding, melancholy, and a sense of beauty on the verge of awakening.
The sculpture is made of resin, bronze and natural materials.
The head shape and some decorations are hand-cast. Connected together create something like a mosaic, hairstyle styled by the Forest. It is possible to order similar artwork on commission.
This sculpture will be presented as part of an exhibition at the Wallarobba Arts and Cultural Centre (25 Edgeworth David Ave, Hornsby NSW 2077), from 24 August to 6 September 2026.
